Massive Learning is our new division dedicated to educational products and services for individuals and schools. We’ll be producing products to help teach at home, learn while gaming as well as support teachers and school districts.
We’re looking to bring the power of game design to inform and enhance education with materials that don’t just use gaming to engage, but use game design to empower students and provide usable applied knowledge and skills. We take the foundations of curriculum, combine them with planning for the future, and bring polish and practice to make products that will empower students and teachers.
Our philosophy is based on meaningful design. As gamedev great Sid Meier said “Games are a series of interesting choices”. Game development-based education is about meaningful choices. We create educational materials that provide meaningful design choices, and meaningful play choices, all while making connections to the real world. Our products are about tying theory-to-design-to-action so students can learn by building and learn by playing. Our themes and methods provide rich cross-curricular connections that enhance learning by showing the context of methods and theories in applied situations. With game development-based education we seek to employer learners with tools to teach themselves, explore their world, and create. We believe our philosophy helps us create products that will enhance your student or child’s learning whatever your teaching method; traditional models, inquiry learning, problem-based learning, project-based learning, discovery-based learning or others.
